Race: Modron
Class: Sensate Factotum
Special Skill: The correct and careful application of sensing stones.
Description: Checker, a rogue modron turned artist, was once a strict adherent to law and order until it encountered paradoxical optical illusions created by a Xaositect artist, which shattered its rigid worldview. This trauma led Checker to abandon its programming, seeking to understand the multiverse through the perceptions of others. Joining the Sensates, Checker, now known by its artistic pseudonym “Modrian,” uses art as a tool to study how various beings experience reality. It creates controlled stimuli—visual and auditory—to observe and record the reactions of different creatures, aiming to build a universal understanding of sensation and, eventually, construct a perfect sensory device. Despite its chaotic artistic side, Checker remains obsessed with the logic of its quest to understand the true nature of the multiverse.
