Recap - 2025-07-10

  • Chibro worked at the Armory during his downtime, working with the Doomguard. He was introduced by Factotum Saren Grav to a grung named G’lep, who is their ranged weapons expert. He has a five-shot rifle, which peaks Chibro’s interest, and Saren tells Chibro that G’lep is associated with Small in some way, and if Chibro sees G’lep around the area, for him to assist him in whatever he is doing.
  • Tag works in the market, repairing jewelry and waiting for the target of his counterfeiting to come by. When she does, he calls her over for a quick repair and manages to swap his counterfeit broach for her real broach, which he then hides away until later. The woman he stole the broach from is a Githzerai.
  • Tag and Chibro also spent time together at meals chatting about their plans and learning about where the other came from.
  • Josiah spends his time performing acrobatic feats for Checker at the Society of Sensation and earns some cash.
  • Angelus spends his week gambling at Fortune’s Wheel, and loses it all. He then borrows 50 GP as an advance from Small and goes gambling with it as well. He is coerced by Shemeshka, an Arcanoloth that later admits to owning the casino. She sees him as a potential high-roller, and asks him back into the back room to roll the eponymous Fortune’s Wheel, and he manages to earn back some cash. Shemeshka offers him another spin, saying it’s again normal protocol, but he seems eager. He manages to earn a low-level prize, but then convinces her to step away for a moment and steals some tokens from the dispenser and runs through another few attempts. His first pull nets him a property in the gate-town of Rigus, and his second pull nets him a minor pseudo-divinity, making him essentially the patron saint of street performers and gamblers. On his way back, he gets a reaction from many celestials and fiends he walks past, and discovers he is able to influence the outcome of a three card monte game. He is able to influence a street performer or street gambler’s act once a day, in some way he sees fit.
  • The gang gathers back at Small and Coats Industries, where Coats introduces them to Tabithgor, a plasmoid interplanar guide. Coats explains that the group is going to participate in a delivery this time, not a retrieval. The destination is the Crawling City in Gehenna. But the issue is, they can’t just go straight through a portal to Gehenna. All the portal empty out on the bottom layer in the caves, and the earth elemental myrmidons won’t be able to navigate through it. So instead, they are going to have to go to Gehenna by way of Hades. The full path is:
    • Sigil -> The Outlands by way of Semuanya’s Bog, -> Hopeless -> Hades -> River Styx -> Gehenna -> Crawling City -> Nimicry (where a portal back to Sigil can be found) -> Sigil.
  • Tabi, as he prefers to be called, tells you he has a Sphere of Fire Immunity in his head that will make anyone within 30 feet immune to fire damage, and anyone within 30-120 feet resistant. This is necessary because Gehenna is covered in volcanoes and he doesn’t want to bubble away from the heat.
  • The group does some quick shopping, and Tag buys a Nightmare for a decent price, getting it so cheap due to it missing its flight and phasing abilities.
  • The group heads out and discovers the portal to Semuanya’s Bog is in a giant overflow drain in the middle of Sigil’s only river, The Ditch. Tabi has Chibro throw the key through (a bag of mud with a catskill branch in it), then the group quickly makes their way through.
  • Upon arrival in the bog, they make their way along the wooden platforms, then accidentally stumble upon a family of T-rexes enjoying a dinner of the last group to cross though the bog. They manage to kill them after a pitched battle, where at one point three separate characters were in the mouths of the t-rexes. Highlights include:
    • Chibro immediately rune-zapping the mother T-rex, freezing her out of any action for several rounds, likely saving the party.
    • Tabi getting stuck on one of the teenage t-rex’s heads, and the group quickly discovered why he is a guide that needs hired muscle, as he was ineffective at fighting the t-rexes.
    • Josiah calling down a massive storm over the t-rexes, robbing them of their first action, also likely saving the party.
    • Tag bringing down the mother t-rex using a well-placed arrow to the brain.
    • Angelus rooting the t-rex in place by making it fearful of him, preventing it from killing Chibro outright as he lay unconscious.
    • Gobbie bringing the heals as he kept his distance from the dinosaurs.
  • After defeating the dinosaurs, Chibro and Tag stripped them of their teeth, and Tabi cut away a number of steaks to prepare later.
  • The group waded into the water at the edge of the bog and made their way to firmer land, where they set up camp and roasted the t-rex steaks for dinner. Tabi asked the group about their scars, as Plasmoids can’t scar and he is fascinated by them, and the group shared their various scars.
    • Josiah shared about the scar where his mechanical docent implant used to be.
    • Chibro shared about his scar he received fighting a hellhound as they overwhelmed his village and killed his brother.
    • Tag shared a scar privately with Tabi, who seemed impressed by it but lied to the rest of the group that it was a large scar on Tag’s rear.
    • Angelus showed his relatively new facial scars from the razorvine blight fight in the alley last week.
    • Gobbie didn’t share a scar.
  • The group set in for a long rest, preparing for the two day hike across the Outlands to the gate-town of Hopeless.
